Beach Slang quickly became one of the most exciting bands to come out of 2014 after taking the scene by storm with their debut EP 'Who Would Ever Want Anything So Broken?'. I haven't even been able to stop listening to that one on almost a daily basis and they've already teamed up with Tiny Engines for this brand new 4-song EP. Glad to see this band is not taking it slow.

I'm always excited to share talented new Belgian bands with you. This time it's Newmoon, a five-piece risen from the ashes of the recently disbanded Midnight Souls. They started out last year and were picked up shortly after by Jeremy Bolm to release their debut EP 'Invitation To Hold' on his label Secret Voice. The EP contains three songs of dream pop/shoegaze with some indie rock mixed in, making this a very promising debut with hopefully a lot more to come from.

Always thought Aviator should get more attention, or at least would be getting one day. If so, this is the right time after signing with No Sleep Records and releasing their debut full length. They found a perfect balance in-between emo and hardcore with 'Head In The Clouds, Hands In The Dirt', if you're into any of their previous releases or a band like Caravels, take it from me, you won't be disappointed.

I remember seeing this band once a while ago. They're 3 guys from Würzburg, Germany, about an hour's drive from where I live. I'm pleasantly surprised with their debut EP which they just put out. Definitely worth checking out.

Dikembe - Mediumship (2014)

I was finally able to give this one a spin today. One thing I can tell about it is that Dikembe are showing a more mature side on 'Mediumship', unfortunately a bit at the expense of the energy on previous releases. I'm pretty sure this album will need a few spins to really grow on most you, including myself, but it's a quality record without a doubt.

Weatherbox - Flies In All Directions (2014)

Just to be clear, this blog is far from dead. I just haven't been able to listen to a lot of new music lately. Hopefully this one will make up for the lack of updates recently. Since its announcement 'Flies In All Directions' instantly became the record I was most looking forward to hear and I'm still surprised by the result, that's how good it is. To be fair, it took a few listens for it to really grow on me but Weatherbox managed to write another brilliant record while still holding on to their signature sound. You'll never hear the same album twice from this band, phenomenal effort.
